A Costa Rican Colonial style building with rustic beams, polished white concrete and teak floors, high ceilings and airy verandas that encircle the building.

Inside

Casa Casona is furnished in an exotic tropical style with beautiful and comfortable rattan sofas and armchairs. It offers a chef’s kitchen with a professional 6-burner gas stove and huge stainless steel fridge/freezer. Many furnishings and textiles come from the owner’s travels around the world. Games and a library for guests. The large drawing room, family room with its soaring ceilings, offers a huge dining room table crafted from one sole piece of local Guanacaste wood, seating up to 18 guests.

Bedrooms

Four bedrooms with queen size beds and one with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. Three bedrooms with bathrooms ensuite and one bathroom shared between two of the remaining bedrooms. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and air conditioning

Outside

The hacienda rests on four, private beach-front acres. There is a deep pool, day-beds, bamboo swings and many hammocks for lounging as well as palm-roofed Ranchos. There is a pool table and a large, palm roofed, teak Yoga platform that accommodates twelve. Mats are provided.

Location

Casa Casona is secluded, but at the same time walking distance to a market as well as an excellent Italian bakery and many small restaurants.

Situated on 4 acres of land about two kilometers from the entry to Santa Teresa, this stunning estate has 100 metres of beachfront in front of excellent surf. Casa Casona is relaxed, comfortable and extremely beautiful.

Staff & Dining

If you would like a chef for lunch and/or meals prepared daily, several options offered from an excellent cook to gourmet chefs of the highest calibre. Special diets are catered for and a cleansing juice fast can also be arranged for those who wish to have a Spa retreat.

Casa Casona comes with 2 full-time maids who will make your beds, change linen and towels and wash clothes daily.

There are caretakers and helpers living on the property who sweep the path to the beach and around the pool every day.
There is an Administrator who comes daily, checking to make sure all runs smoothly.

There is a security guard on the property.

The staff are here to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, they are here if you need them, not if you don’t, they are aware of your need for tranquility, privacy and peace and quiet.

Things to Do

Casa Casona has excellent surfing right in front and guests have a large choice of activities for all ages.

Riding along the beaches or on a 3000 acre finca, to visiting waterfalls or flying through the tree tops on a zip line.

Quad tours are available as well, as a visit to a butterfly farm. Jungle walks can be organised.

A relaxing or deep tissue massage, under the palm trees and a private Yoga session at dawn or sunset is also available.

Casa Casona happily caters to Yoga groups and other retreats.

It offers wonderful privacy, while not being so far away from all the amenities you need. You will feel at home, pampered and relaxed. The aim here is to create a wonderful place, full of elegance and comforts whilst, at the same time, retain the natural wilderness of Costa Rica. The exquisite sunsets are famous.
