Hamptons House was built by the owners in 1980 in Bridgehampton, Long Island, New York. The owners purchased two 17th century barns in England – one in Berkshire and one in Sussex and shipped them to the site where they where re-erected.

The larger barn, about 40′ by 100′ serves as the main living and dining room. A corner of it is walled off for the kitchen – the fully equipped kitchen has a big refrigerator, a Wolff stove and two dishwashers.
The smaller barn, about 30′ by 60′ serves as the master bedroom.
In the smaller barn the master bedroom has a steam shower and sauna in the bathroom. There is a new wing joining the two barns with two double bedrooms each with en suite bathrooms.
The lower ground floor has a pool room, a double bedroom and a twin bedded room and a bathroom and laundry room.
Large French doors give access to the pool and deck. One end of the deck has the outdoor cooking area and dining table and the other end outdoor seating. Both areas are covered, there is also an outdoors large gas grill.
There is a jacuzzi, hard surface tennis court and putting green on the grounds, which are wooded, with flowered gardens.
The nearest train station is Bridgehampton, 10 minutes from the house, and the Long Island RR runs to Penn station in Manhattan. There are many flights from East Hampton airport to La Guardia, and driving via the Long Island Expressway to New York City is about two hours.
Daily housecleaning and gardening are included.
Local activities are swimming and surfing in the ocean, kayaking, water skiing and sailing in the bay with fishing everywhere. Show jumping, eventing and polo matches are very popular. Tennis and golf are plentiful.
There is an abundance of New York society social events, film screenings, art galleries and literary events. There is local theatre at the Guild Hall in East Hampton and in Sag Harbor. The Hamptons have always been a center for contemporary artists and a great many painters are at work there and are shown at the new Southampton Art Museum.
