Numero 6 Calle Castillo is a series of original rooms radiating off an inner courtyard and a garden with vine, orange tree and a small pool to temper the unforgiving summer sun.
Due to there being steep outside stairs and a roof terrace, plus no way to close off the pool, the house is not really recommended for toddlers and very young children.
it is a charismatic, rambling old house with stone floors and beamed ceilings, a cave and a well. There is also a kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, bathroom and shower room, a dining room and living room complete with television, wi fi, dvd and books. All of it decorated in a style befitting its origins.
Spread over two levels, it sleeps 6 to 7 in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one also has a shower.
Enjoy the evening sunset on the roof terrace with distant views out to Africa.
Here you are in the heart of this genuinely welcoming community, in the most fascinating part of southern Spain. This area has not been spoilt by tourism, is authentic and atmospheric with vast areas of virgin national park.

Vejer is a fortified mountain town declared a national monument, which dominates the vast scorched plain below, giving spectacular views and an amazing sense of history in its whitewashed alleys and squares.
Housekeeping comes once a week only. Extra housekeeping can be arranged at an extra cost. Food can be bought from the nearby shops.
A very historic port town with ugly outskirts but really atmospheric old bit around the cathedral. The geography is very confusing but well worth a park up and stroll. Head for the old historic town and park near the port front. There is a lovely old fish and fruit market near the old town. Remember that shops all close during siesta from 2 – 5.30pm.
You can see this in the far distance from Vejer, another white town on a hilltop, even steeper and sleepier with incredible views from the summit. There is a lovely old main square that you can sit in and have tapas. It’s also a wonderful drive through windy roads to get there, past fighting bulls in the fields. Turn right on the N340 direction Algeciras, then it’s a turning on the left.
This is windsurf city, but also a funky little town with good shops and bars and lots of restaurants. There’s also a nice hotel, The Hurricanes just before town which is a good base and they do excellent cheap lunches and horse-riding.
