The Barn dates to 1895 and is a lovely, warm, very special place that the family cherish, made for entertaining and relaxing, with three huge fireplaces, huge dining room table, gourmet kitchen, antique furniture throughout, cathedral ceilings and lots of room for spreading out after a long day of hiking, canoeing, or skiing.

Inside

The dining room has a long 12 foot table that seats 16-20 and a second large kitchen table that will seat 8-10.

The kitchen has maple cabinets, with maple wood counter tops and island; all handmade locally, with new stainless steel appliances.

Bedrooms

A total of 8 double bedrooms with either King size beds or Queen size beds. 2 bathrooms on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor.

Outside

Quiet rural beauty on nearly 200 private acres with magnificent views and fall foliage, hiking, swimming and canoeing, kayaking in private 17-acre pond, cross country trails. There is a large garden with an outdoor grill.

Northwest outdoor seating area on the patio for cocktails and sunsets.

Things to Do

From hiking, swimming and canoeing, kayaking in private 17-acre pond, cross country trails,  nearby Craftsbury for Nordic walking, between Crystal and Willoughby Lakes, antique shops, riding, biking, skating, curling, and fishing on the Brownington, Clyde, the Black, the Willoughby, and Barton rivers.

We can recommend local massage therapists, cooks, and provide all guest with a ‘things to do’ sheet on the area. There are lots of wonderful things to explore! There is a games room with a ping pong table, yoga area and mats. A bookcase in the ‘Great Room’ offers a variety of reading choices and a trunk in the same room contains many board games and puzzles for children.
