Henry Harwood Hewitt was the architect for the Villa Loz Feliz, a fine example of the Mediterranean Revival style that flourished during the years between the end of WWI and the 1930’s. Hewitt was one of the most influential architects in Los Angeles during the time the villa was built.

Named LA Weekly’s ‘The Best Place to Pretend You’re a Celebrity’ in 2013. The property is well known in Hollywood, housing the cult director James Whale during his horror film fame. The house is also a popular filming location for many fashion shoots, movies and TV shows, most recently for the HBO show ‘Entourage’.

Inside

The property enjoys complete luxury with the rooms. A large stone fireplace and venetian walls strives to show elegance and charm. The surfaces of the property are built with limestone, marble, tile and stone, further exerting sophistication.

Bedrooms

The guest house sleeps two on a king size bed. A rollaway bed and a crib for infants are available if needed.

Outside

The guest house is situated on the garden grounds of a grand 1927 Mediterranean estate and rests securely above 15′ castle walls, high atop a hilltop in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.  Bright, sunny and spacious, it overlooks a large emerald tile pool to a view of the downtown Los Angeles skyline and city lights.  The mountains and ocean are also visible from the property.

Located at the end of a very quiet cul de sac and upon a hill. Los Feliz is an affluent, hilly neighbourhood of 40,000 residents in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles.

There is an Albertson’s supermarket, restaurants, cafes and miscellaneous shops exactly 1 mile from the villa.

Hillhurst and Vermont Avenues are the main shopping streets of Los Feliz Village.

Beverly Hills is about 35 minutes drive.

The villa is situated next to Griffith Park, the largest municipal and urban wilderness area in the United States with many walking and hiking trails. The Park is the home of the Los Angeles Zoo, four golf courses, the Greek Theatre, the Griffith Observatory, the Autry Museum, horseback riding, public tennis courts, bicycle rental, pony rides, camping, picnic areas, swimming pool, athletic fields etc. There are two Frank Lloyd Wright museums, the Hollyhock House and the Ennis-Brown House and Richard Neutra’s most famous house.

Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, mail/shipping store, grocery and health food stores in Los Feliz Village center.

The property is available to rent for parties and events several times per year.
The property is in a residential neighbourhood so there are limits on the size of the event. There is a limit on the wedding size to 75 guests.
