Garden Cottage is a beautifully restored four-bedroom Victorian cottage built into the wall surrounding the estate’s original flower and vegetable garden. Built around 1848 in the cottage orné (or decorated cottage) style by the Brooke family, the picturesque former head gardener’s cottage occupies an elevated position overlooking woods and hedgerows. The Suffolk White brick cottage features gothic round-headed ogee mouldings to bargeboards and round-headed windows with tuck pointing beneath a slate roof.

A secret garden awaits. What were once Victorian bothies (where the estate’s gardeners lived) have been transformed into eight king-size bedrooms with en suites featuring roll-top baths and powerful showers plus a vaulted ceiling central dining hall bookended by French limestone fireplaces. Step through the wall into three elegant glasshouses inspired by the neoclassical designs of the celebrated architect Sir John Soane within the estate’s original flower and vegetable garden.

Formerly the estate’s home farm and without doubt its oldest property, the Farmhouse sits in the heart of the hamlet within the estate’s Arcadian pleasure grounds. Downstairs, the central triple-height hall opens up to a beamed sitting room with comfy sofas, inglenook fireplace and fluffy throws as well as the large kitchen & dining room.

Once at the centre of 19th century agricultural life on the estate, the Cartshed is a restored former cart shed overlooking private parkland as far as the eye can see. Its four en suite bedrooms feature king-size Hypnos beds, quirky furnishings and splendid views across the estate. Sleeps 8

Set on a hill 15 minutes by car from the main estate, this Tudor farmhouse has been restored and extended to provide six bedrooms including one its own boat house with in-room roll-top bath and hot tub perched over the moat. Accessed via a private drive and footbridge, this pretty pink thatched farmhouse has underfloor heating on all three levels and a large open plan kitchen & dining room. Sleeps 12
